Sponsorship

 

Working the 12 Steps often requires using a sponsor for guidance. I needed one when I first worked the steps in Alanon, and thank goodness I had a sponsor who had thoroughly worked them using AA's method. It was a big help for me when it came to nicotine.

I couldn't find a NicA sponsor 27 years ago, and there were no face-to-face meetings. I even tried to start one, but it didn't last long. Finally, I found a chat group of people on AOL trying to quit nicotine, and from there, a group of friends started a NicA meeting.
